Seeing a need for an energetic, christian mentorship/ support group for women in the Northwest Ohio & Surrounding Areas, SistaGirlz was formed to provide sensible solutions to empower the Women in o Community. Creating a Partnership for Resources was key to the development of SistaGirlz. Our desire was & remains to be having essential partners & resources for the community we serve. We've consistently grown since our launch in August 2019, creating & maintaining new partnerships with various local organizations & networking in order to continue to grow our organization. SistaGirlz continues to grow all thanks to the amazing support of our partners & community!

Rita Y. Nelson-Watkins is the Founder/Executive Director of SistaGirlz. She is a Loving Wife to Brian & Amazing Mother to Cameron, Ramya, Brandon, & Rhyan Brielle. She is a Pastor, Leader, Mentor & Motivational Speaker. Her Drive & Passion behind SistaGirlz is based on years of feeling Indequate, Under Valued, & Having Low Self Esteem. However, through her Faith, the Unfailing Love of Her Family & Several Beautiful Mentors along the way, Rita climbed out of the pit of feeling Worthless & Embraced her calling to help other Women realize their worth! She has extensive history of Mentorship with Women & has served in many different capacities as it relates to Advising & Serving Others. Rita's mission in life is to mentor, encourage, inspire & empower women of all ages to Live in their Purpose and Destiny, Laugh Daily & Love Whole Heartedly ♡!

On Girl Talk Tuesdays (every 3rd Tuesday) we meet from 630p-730p (via Google Meet) to have an In Depth Discusssion as it relates to topics & issues affecting the Women in our Community. It is very important as Women to know we aren't by ourselves and we don't have to walk alone or suffer in silence. We can Empower, Encourage, Uplift and Inspire one another. Whether you're an Executive, Entrepreneur, College Student, or Fulltime Homemaker Join Us and see what can be accomplished when you get an impassioned team to focus on change in the lives of Women.
Hunger is a vital necessity within our community. SistaGirlz accepts donations privately & partner with local businesses in our efforts to fight hunger. Help us connect with donors and with people in need! We together can end hunger in Northwest Ohio and the Surrounding Areas.
Our community is filled with people who help support SistaGirlz & who support our cause of Empowering Women! We work to help the women in our Community by providing services for Mentorship, Mental Health, Health & Wellness, and Education. Our Executive Director & Resource Partners are there to aid & assist with questions, referrals for additional resources, and to assist in the connection with other community organizations for the women we serve. SistaGirlz is always looking for partnership/connection opportunities with the many other organizations in the Northwest Ohio & Surrounding Areas. We are in this Together & Together We Can Make a Difference in our Community!
The Lillie M. Watkins Scholarship Fund was created in honor & memory of our Founder's Late Mother in Law;
Mrs. Lillie Watkins.
Ms. Lillie as she was affectionately known as, was an advocate for education. She herself was an Early Childhood Educator for over 35 years and was the owner & proprietor of Ms. Lillie's Playhouse for many years. Ms. Lillie stressed the importance of education, especially in Early Childhood Education. Her desire was to help develop the proper study/learning habits in the little ones she taught each day. As a result of Ms. Lillie's passion for Education, as well as her many years of experience, she received many Honors, Awards and touched the lives of so many children & their families. Her most notable Award was received at the time of her passing. The City of Toledo Council honored Ms. Lillie with a Proclamation noting her many years of Early Childhood Education, serving the City of Toledo & its children through her expertise.
This scholarship is awarded to a young woman seeking Post Secondary Education on an annual basis. The first recipient of this Scholarship was Awarded in August 2019.
